URL for Video at the bottom) A short presentation of our new shear machine. The first design of that machine was made with a lever drive. The upper knife was driven with a force of several levers. The handle lever was 1.5 meters long and the shear machine required a long horizontal support bolted to the shear bed. The machine was designed for my small workshop for fabrication of works out of steel.

Half — finished DIY hydraulic shear machine. The video will show the newest upgrades however.
As the time passed, the scope of our works significantly expanded and we decided to upgrade the shears fitting them with a hydraulic drive. A separate page will be dedicated to the oil tank and stuff. Now let us take a closer look at the machine’s characteristics:
- Weight — 85 kg;
- Drive power — 3.0kWt;
- Maximum thickness of sheet steel been cut — 10 mm;
- Adjusted knife stroke;
- Maximum knife stroke — 80mm;
- Variable adjusted speed;
- Maximum speed — 1 cut per second;
- Automatic knife retraction.
The following features are planned to be added to the machine during the following month:
- lazer cutting line pointer;
- hydraulic chuck for the workpiece;
- hydraulic automation with sequence valve kit for proper actuating the clutch.
You can watch now the latest video of me operating the shears. Unfortunately, the video was made in my native Russian language, but you can always post your questions and your comments in the forum right underneeth the
video presentation of the shears. Have fun watching!
